Russia's oil and gas revenues in 2022 will be a third more than in 2021 - Serhiy Sapiehin

According to calculations by Bloomberg, Russia's revenues from oil and gas in 2022 will be a third more than in 2021.

Serhiy Sapiehin, Director of Scientific-Technical Center «Psycheа», told this during the Energy Freedom by Energy Club talk show.

"Now we see that only the discussion of the embargo has led to the fact that oil is trading at maximum levels. We understand that Russian oil is sold at a discount, but even under these conditions, according to the same Bloomberg calculations, Russia gets more money than before . That is, so far we do not achieve this repressive effect of the embargo," he stressed.

According to the expert, one of the reasons for the lack of unity in the European company is that we do not fully understand what impact the cessation of supplies of oil and petroleum products from the Russian Federation on the economy of European countries.

"But if we look at Ukraine as a micro-model of that impact, we see that the lack of willingness to replace the volumes of oil products that were coming from Russia and Belarus led to the collapse of the country's economic supply. These are bad symptoms, which, in my opinion, we must calculate, otherwise we can get consequences similar to those that we have in Ukraine at the level of the European Union", Serhiy Sapiehin noted.

As a reminder, on May 17, during the Energy Freedom by Energy Club talk show experts discussed the topic "Delaying the full imposition of the embargo on Russian oil: a weakness of a united Europe or an economic stalemate?"
